Please consult your carrier or contact one of our scheduling representatives prior to your appointment to verify our participation status with your insurance plan. MET YOUR DEDUCTIBLE? Depending on your health insurance plan, your deductible is the amount you pay out-of-pocket each year before insurance begins to cover any medical costs. Deductibles don’t always apply to all services. Most plans cover routine doctor visits, prescription drugs, and preventive care before you’ve met your deductible. After you’ve “met your deductible,” you’re only responsible for a percentage of the cost of service (called co-insurance), a copay or a flat fee, depending on your policy. With coinsurance, you and your health insurer share the responsibility of paying for your medical expenses.
Here’s an example. Let’s say you have a plan with a $1,500 deductible and an 80/20 coinsurance. If your costs are less than $1,500 throughout the year, you’re responsible for paying 100% of the total costs. If you have an injury or illness that requires a lot of medical care, you’ll first pay your $1,500 deductible. Your health plan will pay 80% of the remaining costs, leaving you responsible for the other 20%. If you’ve met your deductible for the year, you’ll only need to pay for your percentage of a procedure.
If you would like to request a refund for outstanding credit balances on your account, please follow the process below to ensure proper handling and timely processing of the requested refund: Please call Powder River Surgery Center business office at (307) 696-8240 to begin the process of requesting the refund. Upon acknowledgement by business office personnel, the account in question will be reviewed in detail prior to processing the refund. After we process the refund, it can take up to 30 days from reconciliation with your insurance carrier to release the funds to you.
*Note – If it is determined that there are other outstanding balances on the account apart from the charges in question, the requested refund will be reduced by such amounts and processed accordingly.

In the case of an emergency call the physician office for the on-call physician or report directly to the emergency room. Recovery periods vary from person to person and from procedure to procedure due to length of each surgery. A rule of thumb is that you can usually expect that longer procedures will require longer recovery periods and shorter procedures require shorter ones. For a half hour procedure, you might have a half hour recovery period. For a one-hour procedure, you might have a one-hour recovery period. The average recovery is between half an hour to an hour and a half.
There are many people behind the scenes that perform to an exemplary level allowing your time at our center to be special. There are instrument technicians processing equipment, OR technicians pulling, preparing and assisting in your case and office staff that collect information. Prior to your procedure, your insurance benefits are verified by office staff. Your charts are reviewed by nurses and anesthesia and your case is prepared by OR technicians. The entire team at Powder River Surgery Center works toward the same goal: we want to exceed your expectations.
ONLINE BILL PAY You may pay your bill online using a credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover), and we will automatically process and post your payment. There is never a charge for making a payment, and your personal and credit card account information is protected by our secure website. PAYMENT PLANS In an effort to make care accessible to patients regardless of their financial situation, Powder River Surgery Center offers patient‐friendly payment plans, through Waystar to fit your needs. Please contact Powder River Surgery Center directly (307) 696-8240 to setup a payment plan.
Family members will not be allowed in the patient pre-op/recovery room area unless patient is a Minor or needs the assistance of a Care Giver. Family members are welcome to wait in our waiting room until the procedure is complete and patient is ready for discharge.
Parents will be asked to remain at the center for the entire time of any pediatric procedures so that they may be present as the child awakens. Your child’s comfort, by you the parent is an important part of recovery.
There are two reasons. One, sometimes physicians get ahead of schedule and it is important that the next patient be available and ready for their procedure. Two, patients go through an assessment phase by nurses’ and anesthesiologists in preparation for their procedures. This takes time and, so that no patients feel rushed, it is important that all involved have time to make their contribution to your care.
The policy of this center, as with many health care facilities across the nation is that patients pay their portion of co-insurance and any remaining deductible at the time of the procedure. This helps to keep the collection prices down, thus the cost of doing business at a minimum. Ambulatory surgery centers are paid 46% less than hospitals, on average for procedures, and thus, efficiency of care including collections, is extremely important.
Sometimes patients do owe more after the procedure because the physician performed more than was anticipated at the time of registration and/or there were implants and supplies used that were unknown at the time of registration.
